Neck pain and headaches…so very disappointed! Going in the trash.

I very rarely write reviews unless something is 4-5 star spectacular or 0-1 star super disappointing.
My first experience with a down pillow and I’ll never get another. I persevered for 3 months, trying different ways to sleep with it but after all the headaches and neck pain, I had to give up and buy another pillow, elsewhere.
This is not to say the quality of this company’s pillows are subpar but for anyone looking to buy a 100% down pillow for the first time, because you've slept on one in a swish hotel, this is not that pillow! You’d have to spend a fortune to get a larger than standard, absolutely stuffed to the brim and seams down pillow, to relive that experience.
I sleep back and side. I often start on my side then wake on my back. With this pillow, wherever my head lays, all the down floofs out to the areas where my head isn’t and my head is left laying on more pillowcase than down. When sleeping on my side, I need to scrunch as much of the down over to that side as I can, lay my head carefully and position my hands underneath to lift my face. I then wake on my back and my head is virtually on the mattress with all the down either side. I then tried using the pillow on its side, kind of like it would sit upright as a display pillow, and sleep on my back. The down still floofs to the sides but my head sits a little higher with some down beneath it but walls of pillow either side (hard to explain) that prevent me from changing position.
I REPEAT! This is not a reflection of this company’s products, but my first time experience with a down pillow of this grade. This cost quite a bit for the average, middle income person so the grade of down pillow I would need to buy to get that swish hotel pillow experience, would absolutely be above and beyond my budget.
I obviously really persevered but the neck pain and headaches were so bad that I had to go to a remedial massage therapist and buy a new interim pillow until I could figure out a good new one.

Thank you for your review, Kathryn. I think this will be really helpful for other shoppers. Down is a very soft and delicate material that doesn't have much heft to it. It flattens out easily with the weight of the head. Down is also very expensive per ounce, and it's important to know that a higher price point doesn't mean it is 'better' for your needs. Most people need more support than a down pillow can provide, and we find that our feather & down pillows tend to be more suitable for most. You're right that a down pillow can be stuffed really full and provide more support, but it'll still only be some moderate, gentle support. Our 625 Loft White Down Pillow is our fullest and firmest down pillow for those that are interested. I would recommend being wary of 'down pillows' that feel very bouncy and springy. It's not uncommon for some companies to mix polyester into their down, which can create this feeling.

Side sleepers like you tend to need a fair bit of robust support to keep the head, neck and spine evenly aligned. Back sleepers need less support, but still some. We definitely don't recommend down pillows for side sleepers, unless you're one of the rare people that prefers and benefits from a really soft pillow! Our team is happy to help you navigate the options based on your sleeping style and can also refer you to resources and reading on our website.

Simply put, not all pillows work for all sleepers, and it can take some research and even a couple tries to find the right pillow. We're here to help with that process. I hope that your new pillow is working better for you. Let us know if we can help in the future.

Best pillows

For the amount of time you use a pillow, these are money well spent. Best down pillows I’ve ever had

Comfortable but a downy nightmare

These pillows are leaking down like crazy, and it’s a total mess. Down is all over our bedrooms, and it’s nearly impossible to get rid of them. It’s a shame because the pillows are actually comfortable, but the constant shedding ruins the experience. Poor quality control—I wouldn’t recommend them unless you enjoy vacuuming feathers daily

Hi Sam, I'm so sorry to hear about what you're experiencing. Your pillows come with a 5 year warranty against manufacturing defects, like leakage. We hope to hear from you about a warranty claim so we can provide you with a repair or replacement. All of our pillows are made with downproof fabric, but there are rare cases where there's a faulty bit of fabric. Unfortunately, quality control processes are not usually enough to catch this type of issue - it can't be found via inspection. We would have to have every inch of fabric tested, which isn't really possible. We haven't had any other complaints about this product, so I'm guessing it was an isolated issue. Of course, I'm so sorry you got stuck with it - it's very frustrating and something we would love to make right for you. (Also just want to clarify to other readers that these pillows are down, not feather!)

This company is a total rip off.

I spent a fortune on all pillows, duvet, covers with this company and its a total rip off... The pillows cost over $400 a pop and I have horrible back and neck pain after a couple months. Absolutely no support on these... Horrible horrible product.

Hi there, Thank you so much for your review - it will be helpful for other shoppers! You are correct that down pillows are very soft and sinky (as stated in the product description). Down is a very soft, delicate material that doesn't have the heft or structure to provide much support in pillows. It also happens to be quite expensive per ounce. It is important to note that more expensive does not necessarily mean 'better'. The best pillow for you depends on your personal preference, sleeping position, body size/shape, etc. While down pillows work well for some people, many people need more support than they can provide. We offer a variety of pillows to suit different sleep styles. It sounds like you may be better suited with a pillow containing feather. Feather provides more support due to the springy feather quills. We're happy to help match you with the right pillow for your needs, so we'll be in touch. It can be tough to find the right fit!
Finally, we do provide free returns for unused product within 30 days. I know it can be hard to gauge the support level without using the pillow, but we recommend giving it a good feel between your hands when you receive it. If it feels way too soft, you can return and try another option. If you have used your pillow, we can add or remove fill to adjust the support level for you.
I'm so sorry that this pillow didn't work out for you. I know it is very frustrating.
